Year 11 student, Sarah Saxon attended the 2024 SPARQ-ed Senior Research Immersion Program in the first week of this term,
SPARQ-ed (Students Performing Advanced Research - Queensland Education) is a unique biomedical educational program for school students, delivered through a collaboration between the Department of Education and the University of Queensland at the
Translational Research Institute (TRI), Woolloongabba. During the week, Sarah worked in a team on a real
biomedical research project “Do some antibodies do more harm than good?”, used the latest technology to test and analyse results and discussed the findings with the world renowned researchers at the TRI.
