Junior Secondary at Maroochydore State High School encompasses Year 7, 8 and 9. Our school aims to cater to the diverse range of students and families through offering unique pathways that appeal to all students in this key transitional period.
We provide high-quality schooling and every student with the opportunity to be well prepared for life success through learning and education. We aim to lay the foundations that engage young people in life-long education and training and to enrich their lives through equipping students with the skills and attitudes they need to create a bright and prosperous future.
Our learning environment is based on strong traditional values, it features an innovative and dynamic curriculum, rich digital learning experiences and it is enhanced by excellent teaching and resources.
Students enrolled in Year 7 will have the opportunity to study one of two educational pathways: 1: Drive Program and 2: Strive and Shine Program. These pathways remain in place through Year 8 and 9, however may have some slight adaptions where needed.
Transition Program
There will be three occasions during their final year of primary school to visit and engage in learning, culminating in a final cluster orientation day during Week 9, Term 4. These sessions are opportunities to meet other students, teaching and support staff and interact with new and exciting content and learning environments. There will be parent information and well-being sessions facilitated by the school in the year prior to starting year 7.
