Enrolling at Maroochydore State High School is an important and exciting process and we welcome all our new students.  Due to our enrolment capacity however, we are a catchment managed school and can only accept students who reside within the school's catchment area.

How to enrol

  1. Enrolment eligibility and application
  2. Important policies to read and understand
  3. Enrolment interview

The following information is important to note for parent/carers who would like to enrol their student/s at Maroochydore State High School.

Enrolment interviews are conducted Thursday mornings to commence school the following Monday. Parents will also need to organise stationery, technology items, uniforms and other school requirements before their student begins.

If you are interested in a school tour, please contact the office to arrange an appointment.

International students are welcomed and are managed through Education Queensland International. Our International Coordinator can support you with this process.

Step 1 - Eligibility for enrolment

  • Check the enrolment catchment map online via EdMap to find your home street address. The Principal will verify that your listed residential address is within the enrolment boundary.
  • Complete an enrolment application form for each student by:
    • Completing the MSHS Enrolment Application and email to our Enrolments Officer emp@maroochydoreshs.eq.edu.au
    • Downloading and printing the  and submitting to our Enrolment officer in person or mail to PO Box 55 Maroochydore 4558
    • Visiting our Office in person to collect an enrolment application pack

You will need to provide certain documents for our Enrolment Officer to sight before the enrolment interview. These need to be included with your application. Please be prepared, without the correct and completed documents the enrolment interview cannot proceed.

Please provide the following items:

  • each child’s birth certificate
  • each child’s passport visa and parent’s passport visas (for overseas applicants)
  • your proof of residency
    • owners – rates notice and water or electricity bill
    • renters – lease agreement and water or electricity bill
  • each child’s most recent student report card (two preferred)

Email the completed application and other necessary documentation to our Enrolment Officer or post to: Maroochydore State High School, PO Box 55, Maroochydore Qld 4558.

Upon receipt, the Enrolment Officer will contact you to arrange an enrolment interview with the Deputy Principal.
Please note:  Future Year 7 in catchment enrolments for the following academic year are due by the end of Term 2.  This will ensure your child’s invitation to the Term 3 Orientation Program.

Out-of-catchment application

If you are out of catchment but would still like to be considered for enrolment at due to special circumstances, complete an Out of catchment form and address your email to the Principal via the Enrolment Officer along with your two most recent school reports and other supporting documentation.

Please read the Enrolment Management Plan for information about 'out of catchment' enrolments before proceeding with an 'out of catchment' application.

Step 2 – Policies to read and understand

Please read our important policies found on the right-hand side of this page prior to the enrolment interview. You will need to know about the policies, standards and expectations of our school community before you enrol your children.

Step 3 – Enrolment interview

An enrolment interview is a mandatory part of the enrolment process as it allows staff to become familiar with the aspirations and needs of individual students.  It also ensures each student has a clear understanding of school expectations and gives families the opportunity to ask specific questions relevant to their student.

For senior students, enrolment interviews are a minimum of 30 minutes to allow enough time for career pathway and subject discussion. To investigate 'alternative to school' pathways, contact the office to arrange an appointment with a Guidance Officer or careers advisor.
