At Maroochydore State High School, we believe that all students have the potential to exercise leadership and influence others in a responsible manner.  This can include both formal and informal opportunities.

Student leaders are vital in creating a positive school culture for everyone.  Student leaders represent the school in a variety of events, are the voice of the student body, they organise fun events and fundraising activities, help out the local community and strive to make every day school life a little better.

Leaders are selected for a 12 month period, starting in Semester 2 of one year and concluding at the end of Semester 1 the following year.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have the opportunity to become White Badge Leaders, Green Badge Leaders and Indigenous Leaders.  They also have the opportunity to be Peer Leaders and to work within the Chaplaincy Committee.

Year 10/11 students have the opportunity to be a Leo Leader.  Leo clubs are a sponsored affiliation of Lions Clubs International that encourages young men and women to serve others in their community and around the world.

Year 11/12 students have the opportunity to become a Gold Badge Leader.  These positions generally include the School Captains, Vice Captains, Student Council roles, Cultural, Sports, Indigenous and House Leaders.
