Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisor, Rose Houson offers cultural support and knowledge.

Rose’s role is to assist students with literacy and numeracy, completion of assignments and assessments within the classroom, one on one or in small groups. Students needing assistance can locate Rose at G Block (Printshop).

Student council and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students bring our culture into the school, with the celebration of NAIDOC and awareness events like Closing the Gap and Reconciliation.

Encouragement is given to all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students to come along to meetings and express their views on events to celebrate.

Program students are involved in and attend throughout the year:

  • Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) – Leadership and Outreach programs - Sunshine Coast University
  • Murri Pathways
  • Former Origin Greats Careers Expo
