The Student Council

All elected student leaders automatically become members of the Student Council.  The Student Council represents all students in the school’s decision-making process.  It is an organisation for students and run by students (refer structure below).  The Student Council meets 2-3 times per term, is financially independent and runs according to strict meeting procedures to ensure all students are well represented and have the opportunity to contribute ideas.  The Principal and/or senior staff attend meetings to consider ideas, provide guidance and assist with implementation.

Are there leadership opportunities for non-student leaders?

All students from all year levels are welcome and encouraged to join the school’s LEO club (or Swanee’s LEO club) which is a subsidiary of Mooloolaba Lions.  Students work closely with community leadership mentors from the Lions Club and have a wide variety of opportunities to learn new skills and meet new people.

More information about the Swanee’s  LEO club can be obtained by contacting Shona Benjamin (MSHS HOD Senior Schooling), Adam Rose (MSHS School Chaplain) or the Mooloolaba Lions club.
