On Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd September, our Year 12 OP eligible students sat for the Queensland Core Skills Test. This test is a significant milestone in the two years of work for the senior students who, like our current Year 10s made a pledge to pursue a positive pathway to a successful educational outcome.  Feedback from the students suggested that while the four papers which make up the test provided many challenges, our Year 12 students felt well prepared.  Congratulations to students on their effort, time management and diligence to the task in undertaking the tests - it reflects their commitment to achieving their learning goals.
Each day of the test, the Year 12 students were served a healthy breakfast in our Coastal Cookery Trade Training Centre, an opportunity to bring the group together and ensure that they were focussed for the task at hand. Thank you to all staff involved in preparing students for these very important tests.
The next step in the two year journey is the successful completion of assessment which will go to verification later in the year.  This is the time for ALL in our Class of 2014 to be focussed on finishing as strongly as they can.  Students have been checking their progress towards the QCE and every student is expected to be able to articulate what steps they need to take to ensure their personal success.
Looking forward to all students exiting with the QCE, an OP or worth or a Vocational qualification at Graduation on Friday 21 November 2014.
