LITERACY IN CONTEXT

26/02/2014

During Week 2, we launched the School-Wide Literacy in Context Project:

All Year 8 & 9 Students will be expected to identify, discuss and use the grammatical focus of the week across their curriculum. This Project runs between Week 2 to 9 every term. It is designed to make the best use of the opportunity to develop wordskills inside different subjects and learning spaces. The big picture is that all Year 8 & 9 students quickly learn to carry the skills from one classroom to the next and into their varied worlds.

Every Lesson, Every Day, Every Week.

The weekly focus is advertised on our Electronic Noticeboard that overlooks Maroochydore Road.
Each week, we pose a question which you can discuss with your student/s to get that extra boost of learning in the real world. It makes for an interesting drop off/pick up conversation. Try hard not to settle for a ‘I dunno!’ response.
This year, we want our parent community to join us in a big focus to lift the quality of reading and writing across our school. It starts with a noun and grows to a deeper set of skills to read, comprehend and make a difference in the real world.

2014 is about All Things Literacy.
Welcome you all aboard the daily routine of mastering words.
