EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE

3/06/2016
In a recent newsletter, parents were asked for feedback on the structure of our Junior Secondary Reports.  Thank you to the many families who took the opportunity to help us shape how we communicate student performance to parents.

The key items that came out of the survey:
·         What is the most important information on the current report?
o    40% Effort, 33.3% Achievement, 20% Comment
·         What is your opinion of the written comments from the teacher on the End of Semester Junior Report?
o    66.7% Useful, 27% Not needed.
·         The Effort and Behaviour feedback is provided in a word format. i.e. Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory etc.  Do you prefer this or a letter code like A, B, C, D etc.
o    80% prefer the word option
·         There is an option to include a graph highlighting student position within the distribution of the cohort.  Would you like to see these graphs included on all reports where it is applicable?
o    100% Yes

This feedback will be taken into account as we prepare for the end of semester reporting period.

A reminder that Semester Progress Reports are distributed early in Term Three prior to the Student Performance Interviews on Tuesday 26 July.
