Our annual ‘Celebration of Excellence’ Awards Night is held each year to reward students for academic, cultural, vocational and sporting excellence and to recognise student contribution to Maroochydore State High School.
As per our school diary, the awards are as follows:
·         Academic (Gold, Silver, Bronze) – awarded for performance during the year up until September.  Each student receives a grade point average using the following calculations:  VHA = 5, HA = 4, SA = 3, LA = 0 and VLA = 0.  Awards are then determined as follows:  Gold = 4.6; Silver = 4.2, Bronze = 4.0.  The process for establishing School Dux is very different from the process for determining an OP score.
·         Cultural Awards (Year 10-12) – only activities organised by the school will contribute towards this award.  A = Outstanding performance level or leading / solo role, strong leadership role, reliable enthusiastic participation, excellent attendance. B = Good performance level, some leadership role, reliable enthusiastic participation, regular attendance. C = Good progress shown, active team member, reliable and enthusiastic participation, regular attendance, involvement.  Criteria for Gold, Silver and Bronze is as follows Gold = 4 (3 A’s & 4th not less than B);  Silver = 3 (3 B’s & no C’s);   Bronze = 3 (2 B’s & 1 C)
